The A100 is the place to be for outperforming tech founders, operators, investors and leaders. Informed by our own experience, we understand the value of connections, networks, mentorship and peer guidance, and are committed to paying that experience forward.

Our Charter Members are some of the most successful tech founders and investors in Western Canada who have deep knowledge, networks and resources to share (and receive perks that are exclusive to Charter Members). A100 Associate Members are well on their way to building ‘the next big thing’, and they benefit from learning from those who’ve already been down that path as well as peers who are 3-9 months ahead or behind in their startup journeys. January 1 onboarding application deadline: December 8, 2023.

Qualifications to join

To qualify as an A100 Charter or Associate Member, applicants must have the experience, commitment and network to help grow the tech and innovation community in Western Canada.

Charter Membership

Applicants must meet this criteria:

  • Have scaled a technology-focused business headquartered in Alberta, British Columbia, or Saskatchewan that has used its proprietary technology as a source of competitive advantage
  • Provide referrals from two (2) current A100 Charter Members
  • Are committed to engaging in A100 programs and our communities in an inclusive, respectful and professional manner

And meet at least two of the three criteria below:

  • Have founded or operated a technology-focused company with significant market cap reflective of industry
  • Have generated annual revenues of at least $5 Million (CAD)
  • Have successfully exited their technology company

Applicants are also required to make a commitment of participation and engagement. To apply you must consent to:

  • Have the interest and capacity to provide quality advice to fellow A100 Members and throughout the tech and innovation community
  • Maintain a broad network of contacts and be willing to leverage it for the benefit of the broader A100 community
  • Participate in A100 events such as Advising Roundtables, Member Socials, Lunch + Learns, and more.

Associate Membership

Eligibility for Associate Membership is as follows:

  • Must be a founder (or C-level) of a scaling technology-focused startup based in Alberta, British Columbia or Saskatchewan
  • Applications must include a referral from one current A100 Charter Member

Applicants are also required to make a commitment of participation and engagement. To apply you must consent to:

  • Have the interest and capacity to provide peer advice to fellow A100 Associate Members
  • Maintain a broad network of contacts and be willing to leverage it for the benefit of the broader A100 community
  • Participate in A100 events such as Advising Roundtables, Member Socials, Lunch + Learns, and more.

Steps to become an A100 Member

The A100 Board of Directors review applications based on merit and how they meet the A100’s by-laws and requirements. The committee maintains the right to not extend an offer of admission to all applicants.

The A100 recognizes and honours all First Nations, Inuit and Metis Peoples who are the original keepers and caretakers of the lands on which we live and operate, and whose presence here extends back to time immemorial. We encourage all A100 members to consider how they can personally contribute to Canada’s reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
